PRAYER

a

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
– I Thess.  5:16-18

One of the most important things to understand about the ministry of our church is that we are utterly incapable of faithfully carrying it out apart from the Lord. We do not seek to grow in competence in ministry as much as we desire to grow in dependence on the Lord. Of ourselves, we lack any ability to walk with neighbors in love, believe the gospel, share it, or to realize gospel growth that would benefit our city or our world apart from God giving us these things by His grace.

To that end, we are committed to “praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication” (Eph. 6:18) We meet regularly to pray not only for our own needs, but for those of God’s Kingdom, with prayer that is undergirded by a desire for God’s glory to be shown through Christ Church.

Below are various opportunities to join us in this, as those praying and being prayed for:

Urgent Prayer Chain

Our Urgent Prayer Chain (UPC) exists to serve the prayer needs of members and attendees of Christ Church Santa Fe and their immediate families during times of distress. We offer the prayer support of over 30 prayer partners for those going through challenging situations and circumstances. These can include both immediate and long term prayer needs. Whenever there is a close, personal connection with someone within CCSF, the Urgent Prayer Chain can also be extended to those outside the church family.

Any member or attendee of Christ Church Santa Fe may send family prayer requests to the Urgent Prayer Chain by notifying Sandy Hoffman at sandy@christchurchsantafe.org.

You may also be interested in responding to prayer requests as a member of the Urgent Prayer Chain yourself. If so, please contact Sandy.

Healing Prayer Team

The Mission of the Christ Church Santa Fe Healing Prayer Team is to provide an intentional space for God to work through His Spirit, bringing His love, grace, and touch to those who call upon Him in prayer.

We believe that healing prayer, in itself, is healing – whether answered specifically [as we ask], or surprisingly [as God works in His own mysterious way].

In the fellowship of healing prayer, the soul finds comfort, the troubled mind and heart find rest, and in God’s perfect timing, the broken physical body is truly restored!

Because the mode of this ministry is to “Listen, Love, and Pray,” it is our desire to seek the healing presence of God both for you, and with you. To make a prayer appointment, please contact Sandy Hoffman at sandy@christchurchsantafe.org.

Wednesday Prayer Meeting

Each Wednesday morning at 7:30, the Christ Church Santa Fe Plaza becomes a “house of prayer.” Here we gather to sing a song, consider the Scriptures through lively conversation, and agree together as we make our prayerful petitions.

This is an open invitation to praise God with the Word, pray for our local fellowship, and also to seek His grace and salvation through prayer for the world around us.

Please join us Wednesday mornings for coffee, donuts, fellowship, and a wonderful time of reflection on Scripture, and offering related prayers.

For more information, contact our Wednesday Morning Prayer leader, Pastor John Standridge, at johnstandridge@gmail.com.

Communion Prayer Team

Each Sunday, an individual prayer opportunity is offered along the back wall of the Christ Church Santa Fe Worship Arts Center. During communion, anyone participating in our AM service is welcome to come for prayer. This is facilitated by the CCSF Communion Prayer Team, and follows the preaching of the Word. It is offered during the serving of the Eucharist, and encourages accessing Gods grace through prayer.

Communion Prayer Team partners offer themselves as conduits of prayer for one another and the congregation in a calm, caring, confidential and humble manner. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lord fulfills His will in the lives of the one(s) seeking prayer.  Our deepest desire is that our God may be glorified.

Diaspora Communion

Diaspora Communion (we come to you) is available for all friends and members of CCSF who would like to take Communion but are unable to be present at Sunday Worship. The consecrated elements from Sunday will be brought to you at your home, or hospital or wherever you may be and a brief Communion Service will take place.
